Mash up illustration

Combining both the game Dragon Quest and the location for Hobbit homes, I created an anniversary piece for two gamers. This piece had a lot more flora than I have ever done, so I am happy with how it came out and acknowledge it can keep improving. I am hoping to consistently grow with more full backgrounds and hope to tackle much more dynamic pieces soon.

For the characters I tried to keep instyle with the original Dragon Quest illustrations, for the most part they were flatter, but I wanted the painterly look found in art books for the background. The mashup was fun and I very much enjoyed drawing it.
